OTIUM is an interactive installation realized with the Museo Nazionale Romano.

A realistic 3D reconstruction of the Diocleziano Baths is projected onto a large sheet, creating an immersive environment where the beholder is brought back to the Roman era.

The landscape is interactive and comes to life through human presence, thanks to a Kinect tracking people standing in front of the installation.

When the Kinect detects the participant’s presence, a hidden object in the landscape becomes visible, enriching the scene. OTIUM aims to highlight the importance of the present actor's interest in the past, as this interest, we can bring history back to life.
